99 Cents and Up

Sooooo we all know that we love the 99 cents store, well at least i kno i do....everything is as cheap as it can get it and every once in a while u find a goldmind of items that you cant believe will only cost you a dollar each. How can it be so cheap you wonder but then you realize you dont care cause its only a buck and thats the way you love it. Anyway, the other day as my sister and i were driving by a usual street in my town, we past by at least three 99 cents stores and as i was daydreaming out the window, i read the title of the stores...99 cents store galore, billy bob's 99 cents store and up, 99 cents and up emporium (made up names but you get my drift)...as i was reading them, it dawned on me that its stupid to call them 99 cents and up stores. Everything is either 99 cents or its not really a 99 cents store. I mean sure the majority of the stuff may be set at that price but then there are other things that are just regular priced items. I asked outloud to myself and sister, why do they add that "and up" to the title. If everything is 99 cents and up isnt it like any other store? Couldnt target or kmart be called the 99 cents and up store too? Shoot it could probably be called the 35 cents and up store for that matter, since you can get a pack of bazooka joe gum there. My sister wholeheartedly agreed, stating, "yea one time i was at the 99 cents store and i saw this big ass dining set and i was like hey thats hot for 99 cents might as well get it for my dorm. I get to the register and the man tells me its 15.99, im like isnt this the 99 cents store? he says its the 99 cents store AND UP. I leave the plates and go home." Thats crazy, it should just be given a regular store name where a majority of the items are 99 cents but not most...people would just say wow that store is mad cheap, alot of things up in there are 99 cents. It would almost feel like your getting a deal or discovered a hot spot to get some good items at a low price. Everyone likes to feel like they kno where a place like that is it. It be a good marketing strategy now that i think of it. People would probably buy more of the higher priced items anyway cause they would have the sense that the store is so cheap, even this higher priced item must be a good deal too. I dunno, i cant hate on my 99 cents stores cause they were heaven to shop in when little and i realized that my "good report card" money could go so far and I could have anything i wanted up in the joint cause I could afford it. I felt rich, a lil baller and shoot i still do when i find something worth while up in there. Its only 99 cents, I can afford..maybe ill buy two. I need 'em, i love 'em, and thats just the random thought of the day.
